Eigendecomposition-Precoded Faster-Than-Nyquist Signaling With Optimal Power Allocation in Frequency-Selective Fading Channels

چکیده

In this paper, we propose eigenvalue decomposition (EVD)-precoded faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling with power allocation in a frequency-selective fading channel. More specifically, derive the mutual information associated proposed FTN signaling. Then, optimal coefficients are calculated such that derived is maximized. Our analytical performance results show scheme achieves higher rate than conventional without relying on and classic Nyquist scheme, under assumption all schemes employ root-raised cosine shaping filter. Moreover, scheme’s achievable presence of channel estimation errors. Furthermore, our numerical simulation for bit error ratio spectral density demonstrate outperforms incurring any bandwidth broadening.

Overlap Frequency Domain Equalization for Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling

This letter proposes the Faster-than-Nyquist signaling (FTNS) using overlap frequency domain equalization (FDE), which compensates the inter-symbol interference (ISI) due to band limiting filters of the FTNS at the transmitter and the receiver as well as the frequency selective fading channel. Since overlap FDE does not require any guard interval (GI) at the transmitter such as cyclic prefix (C...

Faster - Than - Nyquist Signaling In a bandwidth

| In this paper, we survey faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling, an extension of ordinary linear modulation in which the usual data bearing pulses are simply sent faster, and consequently are no longer orthogonal. Far from a disadvantage, this innovation can transmit up to twice the bits as ordinary modulation at the same bit energy, spectrum, and error rate. The method is directly applicable to...

Optimal Training for Frequency-selective Fading Channels

Many communications systems employ training, i.e., the transmission of known signals, so that the channel parameters may be learned at the receiver. This has a dual effect: too little training and the channel is improperly learned, too much training and there is no time left for data transmission before the channel changes. In this paper we use an information-theoretic approach to find the opti...

High Performance Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling

In a wireless broadband context, multi-path dispersive channels can severely affect data communication of Mobile Terminals (MTs) uplink. Single Carrier with Frequency-Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) has been proposed to deal with highly dispersive channels for the uplink of broadband wireless systems. However, current systems rely on older assumptions of the Nyquist theorem and assume that a syste...
